About the Role
As the Head of NPL Management, you will together with the NPL team lead the work to set the banks NPL strategy. You will continuously drive the development agenda in ensuring that NOBA has a relevant toolkit to effectively manage our NPLs, e.g. by evaluating to set up a Special Debt Restructurer (SDR). The daily work will be focused on NPL portfolio sales either as one-offs or through NPL securitizations. In addition, you will be a driving force in supporting collections with actionable insights coming from analyzing NPL collections data.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Leading and mentoring the NPL team, providing them with the skills and tools required to proactively manage NOBA’s NPL book
- Managing and executing NPL sales, through one-off sales or NPL securitizations, to achieve the highest possible portfolio value
- Identifying and assessing portfolios that align with NOBA’s strategic goals and meet investor demand
- Guiding the transaction process from beginning to end—engaging with investors, structuring deals, and overseeing due diligence and closing activities
- Leading the structuring work in NPL securitization transactions
- Continuously broadening NOBA’s NPL toolkit by e.g. evaluating the option to set up an SDR
- Supporting Collections in managing debt collection agencies (DCAs) to ensure optimal performance through data-driven insights
We are looking for you who have:
- 5+ years of experience in leading large complex transactions / projects
- A track record of structuring financial transactions such as securitizations
- 5+ years of experience of banking or NPL-related fields
- A degree in finance or economics and/or a strong interest in financial and macroeconomic markets
- Working proficiency in English and one of the Scandinavian languages
It’s a big plus if you have:
- Expertise in analyzing DCA performance to maximize collection efficiency
- Technical skills in programming (SAS/STAT, SQL, R, VBA, or Python)
To thrive in this role, you should enjoy taking the strategic lead and continuously develop the means for the NPL team to succeed. As a natural leader, you’ll build trust and respect through collaboration and clear communication. You should be highly organized, results-driven, and capable of meeting goals while keeping projects on track. Comfort in a fast-paced environment is key, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and teams effectively. We’re looking for a proactive leader who brings both a strategic mindset and hands-on expertise to the table, someone who embraces the challenge of complex projects and can see both the big picture and the details.
